In this episode, we speak with our dream guest - Shad! Shad is an extremely talented rapper and MC from London, who has released six studio albums and 4 EPs since 2005. He has won 3 Juno awards for Rap Recording, beating out Drake in 2011.
Shad has accomplished much more outside of the music sphere, hosting CBC’s Q and Netflix’s Hip Hop Evolution, which has won a Peabody Award and an International Emmy Award for Best Arts Programming.
In this episode to talk to Shad about his new album TAO and the differences between it and his last very conceptual album Short Story About a War. We also speak about his dream collaborations, his favourite parts about hosting Hip Hop Evolution, what it was like, in the beginning, trying to create his own beats on the guitar, his impact on the London and Canadian music scene and much more!
